The role:

The Family Support Worker will work within an Intensive Case Management Model assisting Aboriginal parents and child/children from conception to 5 years of age.  The focus will be to empower parents to be the primary educators of their children in the home maximising the chances of successful kindergarten and early school experiences.

The Family Support team will work with vulnerable and disadvantaged families from conception to school age, producing positive health, development, learning, safety and wellbeing outcomes for children, parents and the wider Aboriginal community.  Senior Family Support Workers will be supported by Team Leader and a Lead Practitioner to work with, as the complexity of needs across the families will vary from minimal through to very complex.

Program delivery will include, Cradle to Kinder and the In-Home Support Home-based Learning Service.

Travel may be required between all MDAS locations and may include overnight travel to maximise work schedules and reduce travel time.
