Extension of vaccine rollout program at MDAS
Free COVID-19 vaccination for more Mob
ABORIGINAL and Torres Strait Islander people between the ages of 16 and 49 years of age can now access the COVID-19 vaccine at Mallee District Aboriginal Services (MDAS) health clinic in Mildura.

MDAS will also continue to administer vaccines to people over 50 years of age.
This is part of the national COVID-19 vaccination program which allows for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 16 and over – and members of their immediate household - to access a COVID-19 vaccine.
Vaccine demand is expected to be high, with the release of vaccines for the new age group (16 – 49 years). The first vaccination clinic for the broader age group is scheduled for this Friday at the MDAS health service on Orange Avenue, Mildura. COVID-19 vaccines are free and voluntary.
“In order to slow the spread of COVID-19, we all have to do our part, which means getting vaccinated. Together we can keep our families, mob and ourselves safe, strong and well,” MDAS Chief Executive Officer Jacki Turfrey said.
“MDAS has worked closely with government to ensure our mobs have access to COVID-19 vaccinations across a very broad age range because every person who is vaccinated is helping to protect the health of their family, friends and community.”
From next week MDAS’ health clinic in Mildura is planning to hold up to four vaccination clinics each week, subject to demand and the availability of supply. Clinics will be held on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday each week; except for the public holiday on 14 June 2021.
“It’s important to encourage your family, Elders and community to get vaccinated so that they are protected from COVID-19,” Ms Turfrey said.
“We are doing everything we can to make vaccinations accessible to everyone to protect against COVID-19.”
Work is also underway for COVID-19 vaccination clinics for the broader age group at MDAS health services in Swan Hill. Kerang mob can get their vaccines from MDAS in Swan Hill.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Mildura region are encouraged to phone the MDAS free-call number 1800 183 593 to make an appointment for their COVID-19 vaccination, or to discuss any queries they may have about COVID-19 vaccines.
