Reconciliation is an ongoing journey
One family's story...a shared understanding
National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements.
For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Australia’s colonial history is characterised by devastating land dispossession, violence, and racism.
And they’re not just the experiences of 200 years ago – they resonate through the generations today… through people who are our neighbors, friends, colleagues and team mates.
At its heart, reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples, for the benefit of all Australians.
