Welcome to our new board member
The MDAS board has been joined by a new member, with strong connections to Mallee communities.
MDAS is pleased to have the expertise of a new member to fill an extraordinary vacancy on the board.
Cara-Lee Brown is a social worker with the Department of Human Services (Centrelink) and was appointed to the MDAS board at our first meeting for 2019.
After growing up at Robinvale, Cara worked at Murray Valley Aboriginal Co-operative before moving to Mildura to work at the former Mildura Aboriginal Corporation, then taking on her current role 10 years ago.
Cara brings a broad range of experiences to the board table, with formal qualifications (Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) and certificate four in community development), but strong local knowledge and as a mum of four children.
Cara took on the role because she was keen to strengthen her connection and make a difference in her community.
