This service provides care and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families during pregnancy and after the birth of a baby. If you are an Aboriginal woman having a baby, or you are a woman having an Aboriginal baby, our service is here to support you and your family.
Our Midwives and Aboriginal Health Workers can also advocate on your behalf.
Services include:
Support for women and their partners during pregnancy;
Antenatal and postnatal education and care;
Breastfeeding information and support;
Family planning and contraceptive advice;
Liaison with other health care providers;
Referrals into other relevant programs.
After your baby is born, we can provide postnatal support, linking you in with our MDAS Early Years Maternal and Child Health Nurse and our Early Learning and Early Years groups.
